The empowering voice of people who use substances
We are the regional service user network. “We all have a voice, make sure yours is heard.” We are RSUN.
At RSUN we don’t believe policy and treatment for substance use should be decided by people who don’t have a lived experience of using substances.
We are working towards being Northern Ireland’s go-to for meaningful service-user engagement in all matters, both public and private, that concern the rights and treatment of people who use substances.
“Nothing about us, without us.”
RSUN passionately advocate for service user involvement by:
- – Supporting and representing people with lived experience of substance use
- – Influencing and shaping policy
- – Engaging groups and services
- – Sign posting
- – Peer support
- – Educating, training and development

Join the network
We are a network of friendly, supportive volunteers who come together to help each other. We are made up of people who have been there, who know what you are going through and want to help. If you think you could be a help to someone in need, then get in touch and we’ll give you all the tools and training to make sure you feel ready and able to share your experience and support other people who live with substance use.
Our team will always treat you with respect, engaging in a meaningful learning process that is designed to create positive change.
We know that we are so much more than our stories and RSUN will fully support any member of our network who may also need additional, practical or emotional support.
