Emotional Intelligence and Resilience

January 29 @ 9:30 am - 4:00 pm

On Wednesday 29 January, the Northern Ireland Frontline Network is running a full-day online training workshop focused on Emotional Intelligence and Resilience.

The workshop will run from 9.30am to 4pm.

Who is taking the workshop?

The workshop will be delivered by Andrea Farley-Moore, Counsellor MA, MSc, PGCE, MBACP (accred). Andrea is a BACP accredited therapist with an MSc in Therapeutic Counselling who works with the BGPS. She worked in the NHS as an integrative counsellor in primary care where she gained a qualification in Counselling for Depression. She has worked within the voluntary and statutory sector for over ten years in a range of contexts and roles including team leadership, programme development and training.

Andrea has interest and experience in training staff in the application of trauma-informed principles in the workplace and how this supports organisational change. She is a qualified teacher with an MA in Education and a postgraduate qualification in coaching and mentoring. In her early career, Andrea worked as a journalist at the BBC, with Pudsey bear at BBC Children in Need and with disabled children and adults. Andrea has experience delivering to frontline staff (e.g. support workers and outreach staff) and managers working in a variety of homeless services.

What will the workshop cover?

Working with people who are in distress can be a strain on our emotional and physiological systems, exacerbated by the pressures brought about by limited resources and an increasingly target-driven culture. This course introduces participants to models of emotional resilience along with practical tools to help recognise and regulate emotion to build flexible resilience.

You will:

  • learn to recognise burnout and vicarious trauma
  • be introduced to Daniel Goleman’s model of Emotional Intelligence
  • understand self and team awareness
  • learn emotional regulation skills and tools for wellbeing.
How do I book my place?

You can book your place by emailing admin@homelessconnect.org.

To ensure that a wide range of organisations can benefit from the session, we are initially restricting bookings to two places per organisation, but we will run a waiting list to make sure as many people can benefit as possible.

What does it cost?

As with all Frontline Network Training, the workshop is free to attend.
