Northern Ireland Frontline Network – Lunch and Learn: Self-Care, Resilience & Wellbeing Strategies

December 3 @ 11:30 am - 2:00 pm

On Thursday, 3 December 2026, the NI Frontline Network will be holding an in-person, half-day Lunch & Learn in Derry, focused on self-care, resilience and practical wellbeing strategies for frontline staff.

The Lunch & Learn will be held at Clooney Hall, 42 Clooney Terrace, Derry, BT47 2AN, running from 11:30am to 2:00pm. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Frontline staff working across the statutory, voluntary, community and private homelessness sectors regularly work in challenging and demanding environments, supporting people experiencing homelessness and multiple disadvantage. The nature of this work can have an impact on staff wellbeing, making it important to develop practical strategies for managing stress, maintaining resilience and looking after personal wellbeing. Workforce survey feedback has highlighted a strong demand for support around stress, burnout and self-care.

This interactive half-day Lunch & Learn – facilitated by Cavehill Psychology – will explore self-care, resilience and practical wellbeing strategies in a practical and meaningful way. The session will provide participants with an opportunity to reflect on their own wellbeing and explore realistic techniques that can be incorporated into everyday life and work.

The session will explore practical themes including understanding the importance of self-care, recognising the impact of stress and emotional demands, developing resilience and exploring simple ways to pause and respond to pressure during the working day that can be used during the working day. Participants will have opportunities for discussion, reflection, shared learning and networking with others working across the sector.

Participants should leave the session with increased awareness of their own wellbeing and a range of realistic tools and techniques that can be applied immediately within their workplace and everyday life to support self-care, resilience and overall wellbeing.

As with all Northern Ireland Frontline Network events and workshops, this session is entirely free to attend for staff working directly with people at risk of or experiencing homelessness. All we ask is that you are signed up to the Northern Ireland Frontline Network newsletter.

Please note that places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. To ensure as many organisations as possible can benefit, a maximum of four places per organisation will apply. A waiting list will be held should additional places become available.
