Contract/Hours: Permanent/ Full-Time – 37 hours per week (This is a 24 hour service with shifts including weekends and evenings)

A bit about the role

Our Rossorry Grove Supported Accommodation is a purpose built 13 apartment supported accommodation service for young people who were homeless or at risk of becoming so. We work with young people aged 16 to 25 years, many of whom have been in care and / or struggle with significant mental health concerns and substance misuse issues.

Each young person will have their own self-contained flat and is staffed around the clock with a fabulous, committed team who work closely with our young people to support their development of independent living skills and enable them to move safely in the community.

As a Residential Worker, you’ll take a lead with case planning management for our young people, undertaking assessments of their needs and developing a care plan and identifying agreed outcomes. You’ll lead on shifts whilst supervising, guiding and directing staff and volunteers.

How you’ll help to create brighter futures

As a Residential Worker, you’ll work with our young people, helping them to achieve their full potential by supporting them in managing their day to day lives and accessing specialist services to deal with issues of a specific nature.

Some key responsibilities of the role are;

  • Supporting young people to achieve their potential.
  • Helping reduce youth homelessness.
  • Being creative and innovative in your approach to care and support.
  • Build and maintain professional working relationships with team members, partner/external agencies and Action for Children colleagues.
  • Refer appropriate cases and issues that require specialist support
  • Undertake assessments, co-ordinating multi agency and family information and analysing and producing reports.

Let’s talk about you

  • NVQ Level 3 or above in youth work or social care related qualification.
  • Experience of working with vulnerable young people.
  • NISCC Registration or the willingness to register.
  • Access to a car and a driving licence. The job requires the ability to travel according to the needs of the job, with reasonable adjustments, if required, according to the Equality Act.
  • IT literacy.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to engage in all associated training and learning related to the role.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and engage in a 24/7 rota that will include, evenings, nights and weekend work.
