
Meet Leeanne.
We are pleased to introduce Dr Leeanne O’Hara, who has recently joined Homeless Connect as our Policy and Public Affairs Officer.
Leeanne holds a degree in Psychology and a Masters degree in Social Research Methods. She also completed her PhD in 2013 with the School of Social Sciences Education and Social Work at Queen’s University Belfast exploring the influence of neighbourhood, social and leisure contexts on substance use and anti-social behaviour in adolescence.
Prior to joining Homeless Connect, Leeanne had an extensive research career at Queen’s University Belfast working across a number of research centres, notably the Institute of Child Care Research, the Centre for Evidence and Social Innovation and more recently the Centre for Public Health.
Leeanne has a particular interest in health and wellbeing and has worked extensively with vulnerable populations including those experiencing homelessness. Her new role will focus on the areas of Health and Justice, using evidenced informed approaches to shape policy development, influence practice and improve outcomes for individuals and communities.
