What we do

FareShare NI is part of the UK’s national network of charitable food redistributors and the largest food redistribution organisation in Northern Ireland.

We take good quality surplus food from right across the food industry and get it to 164 frontline charities and community groups.

The food we redistribute is nutritious and good to eat. It reaches charities across Northern Ireland including school breakfast clubs, older people’s lunch clubs, homeless shelters, and community cafes. Every week we provide enough food to create almost 40,000 meals for vulnerable people.

How it works

1. FareShare Northern Ireland redistributes surplus food from the food industry…

2…with the help of an army of 58 volunteers

3…who turn it into nutritious meals…

4…to 179 frontline charities and community groups…

5…for 33,340 vulnerable people every week…

6. …last year we provided enough food for 1.6 million meals.

Over the last 12 months we redistributed enough food for 1.6 million meals. The organisations we support provide vital services alongside food services.
