Homeless Connect has made a submission to the Department for Communities Intermediate Rent Market Sounding Exercise. The response:
- Outlines our support for the introduction of the Intermediate Rent Scheme
- Makes clear our view that the Department should look to expand this scheme beyond the 300 homes envisaged as soon as financial circumstances make this possible due to the major challenges this society faces in the areas of housing and homelessness
- Seeks clarification on the enforcement mechanism regarding the quality of intermediate rent homes
- Calls for consideration for intermediate rent homes to be available in both urban and rural areas
