Homeless Connect welcomes the Launch of Homewards
Yesterday, the Prince of Wales and the Royal Foundation launched Homewards: a transformative five-year, locally led programme that will aim to demonstrate that together it’s possible to end homelessness – making it rare, brief and unrepeated. Homeless Connect, as the representative body for the homelessness sector in Northern Ireland, are pleased to be the official sector partner for the initiative here.
Nicola McCrudden, CEO of Homeless Connect said:
“The homelessness crisis is deepening, and we are seeing increasing numbers of people, including families with children, facing homelessness across our cities and towns. As a society we have a moral duty to do everything we can to support people experiencing homelessness and to prevent it from happening in the first place.
We passionately believe in ending homelessness, but no one organisation or individual can achieve this, instead concerted effort through effective partnerships is what’s needed.
Homeless Connect welcomes this new initiative from the Royal Foundation which will help to deepen relationships and partnerships between organisations working to see an end to homelessness.
We believe the partnerships and connections made through Homewards will be invaluable in driving forward real and meaningful change to benefit people experiencing homelessness here, and the wider sector which supports them.”
