Join us for the second Northern Ireland Frontline Network event as we discuss the impact of the rising cost of living on homelessness.
In the last few months prices have risen significantly faster that wages, with notable impacts on the rising cost of energy and food prices. As a consequence many people are struggling pay their bills, heat their homes and feed themselves. Rising costs for energy, agency staff and fuel are also beginning to bite, negatively impacting on homelessness services. Temporary accommodation providers have told Homeless Connect about the pressures they are facing in meeting these additional costs, with some being unable to raise staff salaries in line with inflation. Service users also are unable to afford the service charge, with many in arrears.
The situation is only going to get worse.
If you work on the frontline of delivering homeless services, please come along to the second Northern Ireland Frontline Network event as we discuss the impact of the rising cost of living on society and more specifically for the homelessness sector. We will be asking you to tell us about your experiences and what action needs to be taken to support you and your service users.
